Don’t Miss Spenser and Milton @Random coming this March! Dear Milton-reading friends and compatriots, The Milton Society of America is delighted to announce that we are teaming up with the International Spenser Society of America for a Milton and Spenser @Random event. The ISS has been hosting these delightful gatherings for some time (a zoom meeting of scholars, randomly generated breakout rooms, stanzas of The Faerie Queene selected by the cyberfates, close reading and merriment). We are excited for the opportunity to collaborate on a Paradise Lost PLUS Faerie Queene extravaganza. How cool is that?! Join us on Monday, March 20 at 12pm eastern/5pm GMT. We’ll be presented with randomly generated Miltonic sentences alongside Spenserian stanzas, and then genial improvisation will begin! This @Random is free and all are welcome, so be sure to invite your students, colleagues, friends, and family. You can register for this Zoom event by clicking this link, or cutting and pasting this URL into your browser: https://lsu.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJcpdumsqTgvGd0JaGCWxLnZoIUEN1EQCJjF See you March 20 for a truly, doubly epic adventure! (Milton was never slow to acknowledge his debt to Spenser, so it is fitting that the Milton Society of America hereby express its thanks to the International Spenser Society, which first concocted this delicious @Random series and which is now sharing its fellowship and digital expertise.) |
